Rejelle-Rose Larisse does not care about the noise and disturbance of her block mates in the classroom. She just kept staring at her ultimate crush Guji Gonzado. The man is currently talking to his classmates who are also her classmates.
She couldn't help but marvel as she stared at Guji. She has been his classmate since her first year here at Saint Vincent University in the course, Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. When she first met Guji, she immediately like him.
Guji is a member of the SVU tennis club. In fact, he is a member of the Tennis Knights, the well-known elite sub-group within the tennis club. Only the best tennis players can be included in the Tennis Knights and Guji is one of the best. How can he be so good at playing tennis and be handsome at the same time, she doesn’t know. But she like it, nonetheless.
Aside from his talent, Guji is also handsome. Guji belongs to the tall, dark, and sinfully gorgeous category. Guji is tall. Maybe his height plays five-nine or five-ten or even more. His body is so well built that he probably got into playing tennis. When Guji wears a fitted shirt, she notices his chest muscles. She bet he also has six-pack abs.
Guji is dark but even so it did not diminish his beauty. To his friends, he is the only moreno so he stands out even more. Guji's peers were all handsome in their own way but Guji was way, way better than them. Guji also has his own set of fans. Of course, she’s not far behind them.
Of course, she belongs to his fan club. In fact, she is probably the president of his fan club.
But in the five years that she has been in love with Guji, she has not talked to him once. She don’t think she could ever convey her true thoughts to him. He’s a woman-hater. Jelle's only consolation to herself was that she knew Guji would not have a girlfriend because of that habit. So she is still a bit complacent right now. Almost all the women who approach him, he will ignore and will stay away from them. She even remembered the incident wherein he looked at a woman so coldly.
But those flaws of him didn't stop her from liking him. Supposedly, she accepts everything from Guji, flaws and all.
She really liked Guji. How is it that a man seems to have all the qualities she looks for in a man. She liked men who were snobbish, dark, and cold. She liked men who have mysterious aura surrounding himself. And Guji has that quality.
Guji was a brooding man who loved to torture every single human on their campus just by using his killer glare. She had never seen him smile, not even once. It always seemed like the burden the world is attached to his back with the extreme darkness on his face.
Guji's mysterious and full of dark aura adds handsome points to her book.
She did not know why but she was really fascinated with this one. In her twenty years of being here in this world, it was only now she become like this. That by just seeing a man from afar can make her happy.
It was as if the simple moments that were happening between her and Guji can make her happy. Other people may say it’s superficial, or how her happiness is so shallow, but that’s how she feels, what can she do? What’s happening to her is similar to what she reads in the romance novels that she’s been really crazy about.
"My friend might melt. Don't stare at him too much. It’ll be hard for us all when chocolate is scattered here," a voice awaken her deep thought, never-realizing that she’s still staring at Guji. At the same time the owner of the voice covered his eyes.
She knew who that person was. Even if she did not look, she knew the owner of that voice very well. Only one person in the whole SVU owns such a voice, eh. She find that voice (and the owner of that voice) annoying. So annoying to the point wherein she hates hearing it.
It was none other than Jarreus San Diego or Reus among his friends, the thorn in her throat. No one else knows how to ruin his day but this man only. He did nothing but insult Guji and did nothing but irritate her.
Annoyed, she removed his hand that was covering her eyes. Jelle gave Reus a sharp and deadly look. But instead of being scared or embarrassed, it made him laugh. He even managed to sit on the chair next to her! And this one still seems to be joking because without a word, he put his arm around her as if they were close or they seem to have a relationship.
Eww! As if!
"What?!" she snarled at the man and tried to remove his arm that was hanging on her shoulder. But to no avail, she could not get rid of it.
"No matter what kind of stare you make or give to Guji, he will never look at you. He will only ignore you, "he said as he did not pay attention to her snarl.
"Huh? Who says I’m paying attention to Guji?" she asked, trying to hide her real feelings.
No one knows how much she likes Guji other than her cousin Aivi. Even her classmate and friend Chantelle did not know that she liked the man mentioned. To think that the woman has been her friend for five years. She is very secretive when it comes to the men she likes. Because she is not comfortable with someone knowing that she likes something like this or that. She prefers to just keep her feelings to herself.
"Stop acting, Rejelle-Rose Larisse Mendez. It doesn't matter anymore for I already know your secret. I know you like my friend, Guji Gonzado," Reus said and widely smiled.
She was almost stunned by what he said. Especially with the certainty in his voice that it seemed so sure he was right. It seems that he really knows that she really likes Guji. My God! Is she becoming transparent with her feelings? And who else has noticed her liking for Guji? Is there anyone who knows more than this one? Worst, what if Guji knew?!
"W-what nonsense are you saying there, San Diego?! I don't like Guji, ah! Stop spouting nonsense!" she said and widened her eyes at the man.
Reus grinned again and tightened his grip on her. "Are you trying to stir me up, Rejelle? Whatever you do will not change the fact that I know and I am sure you like Guji."
She was silenced because of what he said, because of the conviction in his voice. No matter what excuse or alibi she makes, Reus will not believe it anymore because she can clearly see the certainty in his eyes. At the same time, there seemed to be an emotion in his eyes that she could not give a name that she just ignored.
"What do you like about Guji? I'm a lot more handsome than him," Reus said when he noticed that she was not responding to him any longer.
She turned to Reus and moved slightly away from him. How could she be so close to him. Why is it that she does not want to remove the arm that hangs over her shoulder? She is still not that comfortable when a man is close to her. And she did not know why she seemed to lack the strength and will to remove that arm from her shoulder.
Ah, whatever!
She stared at Reus and ahe couldn't help but look at his appearance. In the daily life that God created, Reus did nothing but brag to her how handsome he was. Her ears are already ringing because of this. But unfairness to him, he is not lying at all. Because he is really handsome. He really has what it takes, to be honest.
Maybe he’s as tall as Guji. He has a pair of piercing black eyes that’s in contrast with his white skin. He has spiky black hair that even looks soft when someone looks at it. He has a sharp nose that matches his red lips that looks so soft at a glance. His face has an arrogant tint on his whenever he was acting so serious — which rarely happens — and he looked like an innocent child when he smiled. Fascinating, isn't it? If only people like Reus were her type.
Because of his face, many women are obsessed with Reus. He has his own set of fans here on their university. She was very aware of the fact that Reus' fandom could rival Guji's. Sometimes she sees how women will look at him when he walks. And she will never forget the event wherein someone fainted just because Reus winked at that person. See? His charisma is also strong.
But she never liked this man. He is the exact opposite of the man she likes. Reus was loud, talkative, naughty, and has a thick face. He has a lively aura that was the complete opposite of what she wanted to her man. That is why in her so-called standard, he did not pass. Not even an inch of him passed. So she can never like him.
So what if she has standards for men she will like and love? She just wants her love story to be perfect. She wants to meet her prince charming from the beginning. She have nothing else to look for. It was as if from the start she already knew and she could clearly see the qualities she was looking for were in that man.
In short, finding someone who is compatible with you. And that was Guji Gonzado, nothing else.
"What? Have you realized that I'm more handsome than Guji? If not, go ahead and just stare at me until you change your mind," Reus said while his gaze was still fixed on her. She was thinking so deeply she did not realize that she was staring at him.
She stared at him and tried to remove his arm that was still hanging over her shoulder. “You’re so arrogant and full of yourself! And please, can you take your darn arm off my shoulder?! Or I may suddenly hit you,” she growled.
He ignored her threat as he looked at her with that foolish smile on his face. “Guji has someone else that he likes, Jelle. And that girl tamed the dragon within Guji. So I’m sorry to be the bearer of the bad news, but you have no more hope for him. If you want, just be mine. I’m still free,” he added in a joking manner.”
She glared at him so bad she was surprised he did not even flinch. “Guji likes no one else, okay?! He’s the one for me!” She immediately covered her lips using her hands in surprise of what she had blurted. Because of what she said, it seems as if she’s admitting her feelings for Guji, it seems as if she’s confirming to Reus that she really likes Guji!
Stupid!
He grinned at her as he gently pinched her cheek with his free hand. “You’re so cute, Jelle. Especially when you blush like this. You look like a puppy,” he teasingly said.
Jelle did not realize that her cheek was already red. If she could only see herself, she might even know that even her whole body had blushed because of what he said. Reus is really a nuisance! A very handsome nuisance!
"Heh!"
"What if I tell Guji about your feelings? We are actually close,” he said as he pressed his index finger and middle finger together to emphasize how close he is to Guji.
She rolled her eyes when she heard what he had said. She does not believe that he will tell Guji about her so-called feelings for the latter—or even that he’s close to Guji. Alright, Reus and Guji were friends but she had never seen the two talk politely. When she’s in the open court just to see Guji's practice, she will always, always sees the two arguing.
If she hadn't known that Guji was a man, she might have thought that something was going on between the two—if you know what I mean.
Of course, that's just a joke.
"As if Guji will talk to you—"
"Damn it, San Diego! Where's my fucking notebook ?!"
She stiffened from her seat and from Reus's holf when she heard that cold and strong voice. Only one person she knew owned that kind of voice. Only Guji. Her Guji Gonzado. She looked at the source of the voice and the serious face of her loves greeted up to him.
"What notebook again, Guji?"
"My—"
"Your notebook is here, Guji. I thought Reus took it. Sorry," he heard one of Reus and Guji's friends Les shouted. He was also their classmate and a member of Tennis Knights.
Guji turned his back on them without hesitation and did not even bother to look at them or look at her. But she is used to it. Well, when Guji smiled and noticed her, it was no longer the Guji she wanted. She will think that something was possessing him then.
"See? Is that the man you want? He didn't even look at you—"
"Who cares? He's still Guji. My Guji ..." she seemed to be dreaming and did not even bother to deny the fact that she likes Guji. He caught her again earlier so what is the use of denial?
Also, she prefers to follow Guji's back figure. She would rather dream of her ideal man than take notice of the one and only thorn in her throat, Reus. Well, it’s more worth it looking at Guji than this one.
He poked her forehead as he gently forced her face to meet his. "You know, Jelle, I don't know what you see in Guji-mon so you can like him. Are you blind?"
She slapped Reus on the arm in return for tapping her on the forehead as she frowns at him. "I just like him, Reus, and what’s it to you on whatever reason I have on liking Guji? And even if I tell it to you or explain it to you, you still won’t understand because you’re a guy!” she said as she slightly rolled her eyes are him.
“If I were you, I’d wear a prescription eyeglass, Jelle. It seems as if your eyesight is blurry, Reus said while grinning so wide.
“You can’t just accept the fact that Guji is more handsome than you,” she said back to him.
His eyes widened as he stared at her. The look he gives her seems as if she said something wrong. "More handsome than me?" he said and pointed to himself.
She nodded. A dreamy smile appeared on her lips as she remembered Guji's face. She let out a dreamy sigh. "Look at how manly he is. He also smells good—" She stopped speaking when she felt a slight pain on her cheek. Reus sighed while pinching his cheek. She tapped his hand and widened her eyes. "What?!"
He shook his head. "I smell good than that ugly Guji!” he said and folded his arms. As she stared at Reus, she couldn't help but think he looked like a grumpy child.
"Hey! My Guji is not ugly! He's handsome!"
"Your Guji? When has Guji ever been yours?"
"Since he became my husband."
"Huh?"
"You didn’t know, huh? I am Mrs. Guji Gonzaga during Guji and I's past life. "
He looked at her as if he was looking at something fascinating. "You are different, Rejelle. Your imagination is so active. If I were you, turn your attention to others, Jelle. Guji has someone else to like. In fact, they have a mutual understanding right now. "
She just stared at Reus and avoided answering back. But what he said never left her mind. Guji already has a mutual understanding with someone else?!
Nah! I am the only one for him, duh.
