Chapter 1

Alpha Zach
"Congratulation’s you idiot, you just got caught. Now keep your gun down, raise your hands up, and turn around." I yelled, aiming the gun at the thief who had his back to me. He and three other guys went about robbing the bank. We were called by a lady who hid in the restroom when she saw the thieves.
When I and my colleagues arrived, we caught two of the thieves who were hijacking people's phones, money and jewelries.
We succeeded in arresting them.
Unsatisfied, because there were two thieves to be caught and handcuffed, I left my colleagues and went out all alone, in search of the thieves. Because I felt they were still in the building. And not too long ago I caught one trying to escape through the fence with the bag of money in his gloved hands.
He kept the bag and gun down, raised his hands up, but refused to turn around.
"Turn around or I'll shoot you." I yelled but he refused.
Something was absolutely fishy. I thought.
Suddenly, he abruptly turned and flashed me a grin. And his gold tooth glittered.
Right at that moment, I discerned and felt someone's presence behind me. That was when I understood why the thief was grinning. His colleague was behind me, pointing a gun at the back of my head.
I hurriedly squarted, that was the moment thief behind me, pulled the trigger and the bullet went flying from the thief's gun and thrust into the grinning thief's chest. I wasted no time in blowing the thief who had stupidly shot his own companion.
He groaned and I kicked the gun from his hand, without hesitation.
I rushed to grab the gun on the ground and pointed the gun at him. His eyes widened at how fast I was, because all what happened was less than fifteen minutes.
He raised his hands up in surrender, as blood gushed out from his nose and mouth.
My colleagues came rushing to the scene.
They had heard the sound of the gunshot.
After heaving deep breaths of relief, that I was fine, they cupped the groaning thief at my feet. Then went about checking the pulse of the thief who was shot.
"You shot him?" Lucas, my buddy who was two years older ahead of me in the rank, asked standing on his full height. He had been the one who squarted to check the pulse of the thief.
"No, I didn't. His pal did." I informed, putting my gun where it was before.
"He's dead." He said. Then shoke his head at the corpse of the thief in pity.
Well, if he had stayed at home and chose not to rob a bank, late in the afternoon, he would've been the fuck alive.
I nodded. "His pal was trying to shoot me, but I stepped out of the way so he saved me, by unintentionally taking the bullet for me." I said. Keeping my uniform in check.
Lucas nodded, then yelled at the female cop to call the ambulance.
"Nice job done." Mr Geoffrey, my boss complimented patting my shoulder.

"Paaapa! Paaapa!!" Francesca shouted, her earlier unruly hair was neatly packed into a bun at the top of her hair. When I hopped out from my car, she was in the arms of her minder.
The lady kept her down and she rushed to get a hug from me
"Hey big girl." I grinned then raised her up in the air and made to throw her up. She laughed, wrapping her tiny arms protectively around my neck.
"I missed you, Papa." She asserted, revealing the huge gap where her two incisors had gone missing.
"I missed you too, my sweet." I replied kissing her podgy cheek.
I looked at my adorably precious daughter.
Francesca was my life and happiness, my strength. Whenever I wanted to rescued the life of people in danger, I would take her picture along with me, looking at her picture always made me bold and strong.
I stared into those lovely baby chocolates of hers. I counted myself lucky, because I probably would've been at the morgue by now.
I tried not to picture how Francesca would be without me.
Hell. I would've lost my damn life.
Being a cop meant accepting the fact that you would take risk every day.
"You keep staring at me, and refused saying anything. Paapa." Francesca stated watching me cautiously.
"Was just thinking about you my sweet. I'm gonna miss you a whole lot, when I get to work."
"Me too." She supplied looking away from my gaze. I knew she was unhappy I would leave her. I tipped her face back to mine.
"How about we go eat some ice cream, after that,I'll drop you at your granny's then return to work." I said trying to cheer her up.
She nodded too quickly, beaming. Which made the bun on her hair to bounce.
"That's my baby." I flashed her a wink.
She blushed and hid her face between palms, to hide the blush on her face.
"What did you do with your front teeth?why are they missing?" I teased tickling her.
She drew her head backwards and burst into a harsh bark of laughter. It was what I used in joking ever since she lost her two incisors.
Few moments later, she stopped laughing and casted a suspicious filled glance at me.
I pondered why did that. It was all new.
"Let's go baby." I told her, after pressing a soft kiss to her cheek.
"Alright, Paapa." She eyed me cautiously, that if I wasn't curious with the sudden strange behavior of hers, I'd have had a good laugh. I released her from my arms and she opened the door to the car by herself. We both hopped into the car together.
