Chapter 1 Beginning

The beginning[Serena's point of view]"Breaking news: a man's head was spotted again near the police headquarters, they suspect that the number 1 serial killer Exodus is again the perpetrator of the crime" I ignored what was being said in the news because I was busy made of dishes here in the kitchen."It's really scary to come out now, why isn't that Exodus too late, he's already killed so many innocent people.""Yes, I'm sure he's still alive but his soul is already burning in hell." whispered our housemates.I can't blame them for talking like that to that Criminal because he has really killed so many.I don't know why there are people who can kill their fellow man. They will not be blessed if they do that and they have no right to take the lives of others because they are not God."Perfect." I whispered as I watched the cute cupcakes I made. I am currently in college and on a cullinary course.I love to cook and bake, I plan to build my own restaurant when I graduate."Senyorita Serena, your parents are already in the dinning area and they are with Senyorito Haru's family." I smiled sparingly at Yaya Isa and signaled that I would be next.I immediately removed the apron I was wearing and arranged my hair before exiting our kitchen. "Mom." I quickly approached Mommy and Daddy before they were both vindicated as well as my two cobra older brothers.I sat down next to Haru who was smiling at me. "What's the matter with you being here?" he shrugged and whispered back "I don't know, they just said they have something important to say to us" I nodded at what he said.He's Haru Arcadio and he's my childhood bestfriend. Like me, his family is also from politics because his dad is currently a senator here in our area."Serena sister, it's only been a week since your birthday. It means you're at the right age to get married so we thought of telling everyone that you're engaged Haru at the time of your birthday." my lips couldn't help but feel sorry for what Mommy said.I looked at Haru but his head was just bowed but under the table you could see the clenching of his fist that secretly hurt my heart.To be honest I love him and I'm happy that we are getting married. But I can't ruin his happines, I know I don't have a chance in his heart because he already have a girlfriend.He already have Bettina in his life.I smiled at Mommy and tried to cover up how I was feeling. "But Mom, do you really need that? I mean our family is ok. Maybe we don't need a wedding right?" when I object even against my will."We know that sister but it would be better if our family came together, each other's power will be stronger and the chances of us becoming victims of a serial killer here in the country will decrease." It hurts to say that because I love him but I can't bear to see him regret when he chooses to marry me.I love him but I will still choose what is best for him. I smiled sparingly at Alexa.One of my friends "Actually I just want a simple celebration but dad refuses it, he says he wants the best for me." smiling and I seemed happy.All my life I have never known who is real to me. My circle of friends? I know they just befriend me because of my father.I was just walking with my circle of friends when Bettina suddenly stopped in front of me.She was sober as her eyes were furiously staring at me "You know what? I should have just followed my instinct to flirt with you." I can't help but stumble upon what he said."Hey Bettina, are you trying to start a fight?" Alexa asked him a steady question, which he struggled with."Yes I'm starting a fight because this b*tch are stealing my boyfriend." I couldn't help but be surprised when he slapped me hard in the face.He slapped me on the cheek and looked at me again. Even angry I noticed the pain and sadness in his eyes."H-I don't know what you're saying." anya ko. Is it possible that Haru told her about our engagement so this is how she treats me today?"Oh c'mon, don't act like you're innocent you little b*tch! I thought you only thought of him as a friend, that's why you're kidnapping him from me." he quickly pulled my hair causing me to moan.I saw Alexa take their cellphone before the video was taken of Bettina tweaking me.How dare them !? Instead of helping me and pulling Bettina away, they chose to step aside and take a video of us !?I held Bettina's hand tightly in my hair while trying to remove it because what she was doing was so painful. I feel like I'm going bald.I haven't retaliated against him yet because I don't want to add to my guilt on him. I knew he was only doing this because he thought I was kidnapping Haru from him and ruining their relationship.I truly love Haru but that won't get to the point where I'll destroy them for how I feel."Bettina stop!" I heard Haru shout. He quickly separated Bettina and me.He hugged me while his friends held Bettina who was struggling."Are you ok?" Haru asked worriedly. I nodded in tears as I fixed my hair."Don't touch me you disgusting idiot!" Bettina shouted angrily at Haru's friend. My friend looked at him annoyed."Bettina can you please stop !? I already told you that don't hurt Serena but you didn't listen!" many students are watching us so I am ashamed of what is happening now especially since I know it will spread because of those who videotaped what is happening."I'm just giving her a lesson. Why are you taking her side? Don't tell me you like her?" he pointed at me so I couldn't help but bow down but Haru touched my chin before I looked at him."Yes I like her and from now on I'm officially breaking up with you. I can't stand your attitude anymore." I seemed to stiffen from what I heard, especially since Haru's eyes were staring at my face.A-what? Does he like me?"A-what are you saying?" I stuttered the question as he smiled "I said I like you Serena." my heartbeat quickened even more as he hugged me tighter.We just lost sight of each other when we heard the students sigh after hearing what Haru said to me.We looked at Bettina both and she couldn't believe she was staring at the two of us.Then his face lost emotion "I can't believe that you choose that b*tch over me." he quickly removed the hand of Haru's friends from him before slowly approaching us and he smiled."I'll make sure that both of you will regret this. You messed a Chavilire big time." Haru and I couldn't help but be stunned after he said that.She also left immediately as if she were the queen.Chavilire, the most feared family that even my family couldn’t afford to collide with.
