Tomorrow... I will execute the Queen in front of the palace... for being their spy..." said Helios in front of everyone, making the whole room full of shock. Moon Ryeong was just staring at him with a look of disbelief in her eyes. She is simply stunned by his words; does he really intend to murder her in this manner?
"Do you mean you will use the Queen to make them show themselves?" asked Minister Choi, the queen's father.
Helios doesn't say anything and just gives a cynical smile with a cold gaze. His behaviour makes everyone believe that he won't just use the Queen as bait but that he will really kill her for sure. Moon Ryeong freezes with his silent answer.
She starts to think that maybe this is finally her time to be killed by Helios after witnessing how he killed so many human beings before. But she doesn't know; no one is aware that Helios is actually just pretending to be cold and cruel toward her. He won't kill her so easily. Rather than kill her, he wants to make her accompany him for hundreds of years. Nope... but for a thousand years.
He will never kill the woman who is standing beside him now. He just doesn't want to show his true feelings in front of the weak human, especially in front of her. He knows how cold she is toward his feelings, and he won't show her his weakness.
The next night, when the execution day has finally come, Helios and Moon Ryeong walk together to reach the front gate. Moon Ryeong followed Helios's lead, silently following him from behind.
"You don't need to worry," says Helios when he realizes how quiet Hye Ryeong is right now.
"Do you think he will come if you do this?" asked Moon Ryeong with a cold expression.
"Isn't it you who told me to have concern for human feelings?" asked Helios back. He tries to use the love the king has for the queen to drag him out.
"What will you do with him?" asked Moon Ryeong again.
"Well, what is it? It will not be fun if I tell you that, "said Helios with a dry laugh. He was just laughing at the woman who was just so concerned with her husband. Why should she love him that much?
" In the end, giving your heart to someone will just lead you to your weakness "adds Helios. That's right! Loving people give so much weakness to people.
They will not be able to hurt them; they have no strength to lose them; and they can't breathe normally when they're not around them. That's all they give weakness. He knows, because he is also like that. Because of that weakness, he can't manage to kill the woman who betrayed him and wants to kill him. He just can't lose her. Because he is so weak if he loses her.
"Just bite me now and let's stop the conversation about love that is contemptible for you," said Moon Ryeong without looking at Helios's face.
"Why are you in such a rush? Are you really tired of accompanying me that much? " Ask Helios to hold his anger inside. She always tries to push him away, as if she doesn't realize how much effort he puts in to protect her. Does she really don't understand how much he should hold himself to not bite her? He did so much to protect her, but why did she really want to die by his own hand?
"Can you just forget about human feelings that you will never get?" Ask Moon Ryeong like she is really able to read Helios's mind.
"Kill me and live alone in a quiet place.. in the end, human life will end on their own hand without you doing anything." added Moon Ryeong, fixing her gaze on his eyes.
Helios just sighed heavily. He couldn't believe what she had just said. Does she really hate him that much? How could she tell him to live alone again? He has done that for more than hundreds years and the loneliness is really killing him slowly. Does he really have no meaning at all for her? If it were all in her heart just for her husband, would he really never have any little space in her heart?
"You keep trying so hard to protect him even though you know you will die?" asks Helios.
"It's not only because of that. After I met Kim Sung Gi, I could understand your feelings," said Moon Ryeong.
Yes, she really does understand how lonely he is and how pity-filled he is to have that kind of cruel life. She just won't let him keep doing the wrong things and living with the grudges. She just wants him to live peacefully and forget about every human life that he envies so much. She just won't make his long life more tragic than before. She wishes for him to live a long life free of human interference.
"You can feel how I feel?" asks Helios coldly.
"Aren't you envious of human love that you can't manage to get? So please just stop. " Moon Ryeong can't continue her word when Helios cuts it.
"Stop it! You've only known me for ten years out of my hundred, so why are you so talkative? I will just see and decide what to do to your husband after this," said Helios, then harshly pulling Moon Ryeong's hand and dragging her along.
When they reached the front gate, the King Lee Yoon, Moon Ryeong's husband, was there, kneeling on the ground. Helios smirked to see that, then he stepped out and made the King and the Queen see each other.
"My Queen..." said the King in a gentle voice.
"Your majesty, why are you here?" Moon Ryeong expressed her concern.
"Aah... how touching..." Helios interrupted the couple's conversation because he couldn't help but notice how much the Queen cares and loves the King and acts all worried in front of him.
Helios then laughed at the king who tried to save the woman who had just betrayed him and left him. Well, actually, maybe he was just laughing at himself because he did that thing for the woman who clearly loved another man and decided to leave his side. The King doesn't show much concern about Helios's words, and he tells Helios that all the Queen did was out of concern for the husband she loves. After hearing that, Helios can't control his emotions anymore. He walks toward the king and prepares to bite his neck, turning him into a vampire.
The Queen, who was observing them the whole time, couldn't just do nothing. She takes her hidden knife and sighs deeply. She wants to end everything. She doesn't want to see more victims of his cruelness. Moreover, she can't stand to see how he kills everyone so sadistically like a monster. She then approaches the two men and steadies her heart. Without being taken aback, she stabbed Helios's back until the knife broke.
He could feel a sting and pain on his back suddenly. Without realizing it, he just swayed his hand and accidentally hurt Moon Ryeong's neck with his sharp nails. In a minute, Moon Ryeong's body drops on the ground while Helios holds his back to ease the pain.
"My Queen!" cried the King, looking at his wife lying on the ground.
Helios, who heard his voice, turned around to see what he did to the Queen. He could see the blood starting to drench her neck and her lips turning pale. Helios then takes full speed to approach the Queen and pushes the King with all his strength until the King hits the wall and collapses. Helios approached the Queen and hugged her in his arms. He used his left hand to make a pillow for her head.
"Moon Ryeong-ah..." called Helios with a low and deep voice. Moon Ryeong hardly opened her eyes and was looking at him.
"Please stop now...." said Moon Ryeong with a weak voice.
"Don't say anything..." said Helios with a teary eye. He then takes a knife from his back and doesn't care anymore about the pain. He cut his palm and tried to treat her deep scar with his blood.
"Please..." whispers Helios, keeping his focus on her neck. He knows the scar can't recover fast and she hasn't much time. Without thinking anymore, he pulled her body closer and bit her neck. Moon Ryeong's eyes widen when she feels his teeth on her neck, but then her eyes are completely closed. Helios never intended to suck her blood so deeply; he just wanted to keep her alive, but her scent couldn't be ignored.Her blood is so addictive, he then keeps sucking and sucking more.
The King, who is finally waking from his collapse, can see that Helios is biting his Queen. He quickly grabbed the pistol near him and shot Helios's back. Helios paused his previous activity and released Moon Ryeong from his embrace.
"You!" shouted Helios in anger.
He tries to attack the King, but Kim Sung Gi suddenly appears and stops him. Sung Gi then attacked Helios back with his new power. While Helios and Sung Gi were busy with their fight, the King ran toward the Queen and hugged her in his arms.
"My Queen... please..." said the King with a teary eye.
Moon Ryeong's eyes suddenly open, but they turn blue; she is no longer herself and transforms into a vampire in a matter of minutes. She feel the thirst for blood and suddenly attacks the king, trying to suck his blood. She pushes the king and tries to bite him.
"My Queen...", calls the King with disbelief in his eyes. He can't believe that his queen is a vampire now.
Kim Sung Gi, who is aware of the condition, leaves his fight with Helios and approaches the King and the vampire Queen. He pulled Moon Ryeong from the King's body and strangled her neck. He quickly took the sunsa knife and wanted to stab her heart. Helios, who knew about that, quickly attacked Sung Gi, releasing the Queen. With that, the battle between Helios and Sung Gi started again. When Moon Ryeong finds her chance to attack the king again, she approaches him quickly and wants to bite him, but the king is fast enough to hold her and prevent her from biting him. They then hold each other's shoulders, during which the Queen wants to bite the King, and the King tries to stop her.
"Your majesty! She is not the Queen anymore, you should kill her!" shouted Sung Gi in between the battles.
Even though it was hard for the king to attack the woman whom he loved, he finally decided to take the sunsa knife and wanted to stab her. The King lifted the knife into the air and swayed it over Moon Ryeong's heart.
"Andwae!" screams Helios, then runs fast in between them. In the end, the knife stabs Helios's back when Helios stands between Moon Ryeong and the King. He fastly swayed his hand, and his sharp finger nail succeeded in hurting the king's neck.
Helios, who had lost blood due to numerous battle injuries, was so weak on his feet that he kneeled in front of Moon Ryeong, who was still unsure of her position. When Helios kneels on the ground, Moon Ryeong notices that the King has a severe neck injury. He dropped his body on the ground while fixing his gaze on the Queen. The King and the Queen are staring at each other, and Moon Ryeong's eyes slowly become normal again.
"My... Queen..." said the King, with his last strength, trying to reach the Queen with his hand, but he failed.
"Your majesty!" shouted Kim Sung Gi, approaching the King, who had closed his eyes.Moon Ryeong starts to become conscious of her identity and that of the man who is lying on the ground in front of her. She starts to cry, and her heart is in so much pain.
"Your majesty!" shouted Moon Ryeong in the end, wanting to approach the King.
Helios, who is still kneeling down, lifts his eyes to see Moon Ryeong's face. He could clearly see tears in her eyes. The King's love woke her up from the vampire state, and now she realizes that the King she loved left her alone behind.
Helios quickly stood up and took Moon Ryeong away from the palace. He won't let her go to the king anymore; he won't put her in danger by leaving her with Kim Sung Gi there. He is severely injured, but he is unconcerned.He kept running away with Moon Ryeong in his arm while Moon Ryeong just left it blank.
After they were far away from the palace and reached the forest, Helios put Moon Ryeong down on the ground while he squatted in front of her. They are now in the cave in the forest.
"Why? Why don't you just kill me and make me die together with him? " She is staring at Helios, tears welling up in her eyes.
"I never planned to save him from the start..." said Helios with a cold voice.
Moon Ryeong started to cry harder. She had lost him. She lost the man who she loved. She is so broken, it feels like all of her life was taken from her. But yes, her life as a human was completely taken away from her. She pushed Helios, who squatted in front of her, away from her.
Helios doesn't do anything, and lets her do everything that she wants to. He was looking at her with a mixed feeling in his heart. Somehow, he could feel a deep pain at seeing her crying. He wanted to hold her and comfort her, but when he lifted his hand to reach her, he felt a deep pain in his back.
He now remembered that the sunsa knife was still stashed there and it made his pain feel worse. He then tried to reach the knife with his hand and pull it strongly. He moans in pain when he does that, but in the end, he succeeds. He put that wooden knife on the ground and then leant against the cave's wall.
Moon Ryeong silently observed his every move in the middle of her crying. She saw him put the knife on the ground near him. She quickly takes the knife and sways it to stab her own chest, but unfortunately, Helios is so much faster than her and he grabs the knife with his hand, making his own palm injured.
"What are you doing?" screamed Helios in anger at Moon Ryeong.
"Let it go... I want to kill myself." said Moon Ryeong, with a grudge and hatred in her eyes.
"No," said Helios shortly.
Moon Ryeong tries to pull the knife again, but she can't succeed. With that, some blood starts to drop from Helios's palm. When Moon Ryeong saw the blood, her eyes turned blue. Without thinking anymore, she dropped the knife and started to suck the blood from Helios's palm. She sucked the blood like it was the only thing she could get, and it made her thirsty. In the other state, Helios just silently observed Moon Ryeong and let her suck his blood.
"mianhamnida (I apologize)..." said Helios in a low voice. He feels guilty for making her live as a monster like him now, but he just has no other choice to save her.
He just wanted to make sure that in the future, she would not feel lonely like he had in his life.Moon Ryeong keeps sucking Helios's blood more and more, and when he loses more blood, he can feel all the pain from the scar he got in the battle. He was injured by the bullet that was still planted in his back, a scar from the sunsa wood knife, and a deeper scar from his battle with Kim Sung Gi. He felt more and more weakening, and slowly his body dropped on the ground, unconscious.
She stopped her activities when she saw Helios was laying on the ground weakly. She realized what she had done before. She observes his body and finds that he has so much blood covering his clothes. His white and pale face became paler. He is so weak right now. Moon Ryeong just sat beside him, staring blankly at him. She then stared at the knife that dropped beside him.
She knew she could kill him if she stabbed that knife in his chest. With that knife, she can kill the monster who took away her human life, the monster who made her become the same monster. With that knife, she can kill the vampire who killed her husband. That's right, with that knife, she can end his life in minutes. She slowly takes the knife and lifts it in the air, putting the knife in his chest. This is maybe her only chance to kill him. She has a chance to destroy him right now. He is so weak right now that killing him will be very easy for her.
