Chapter 1A middle age Forty years old Man on a black suitcould be seen taking an elevator as he glared at his wristwatch. Damn it! The time was running too fast! He needed to be at the meeting on time because he doesn't want to let down his business partners . He hopped inside his car, started the ignition and made his way out of his company. The buzzing sound of his phone brought shivers down his spine as he trembled in fear. His thoughts went wide at that moment but after checking the caller, his anxiety came down for a moment as he picked up the phone. "Hey daddy, where are you now?" His Daughter's voice echoes in his ear as the memories of his late wife (Mila) reflected back at him. She was everything he treasure. She was the replacement of his dead wife and what kept him alive all those until he finally agreed to have another wife who would cater for her."I'm on my way to the house sweetie!" Is anything Wrong? He asked with a curious tone as she sighed. "It's nothing serious Daddy!" actually! I just wanted to remind you of...... ! "Tomorrow is your birthday right? I got it! I do actually remember so you don't have to remind me. He cut her off immediately as he had already known what she wanted to say."Don't worry sweetie!" I will be the first person to wish you first before anyone. I will be there very soon! He assured her as he ended the call.****He talked and acted like everything was okay not knowing that it wasn't. Well he didn't want to bother anyone about it so he decided to keep quiet about the situation befalling him. He was scared. He was frightened of the consequences but what can he do?There's nothing he can do because he's owing people a lot of money. His business has been going down recently. It wasn't like before when the business was booming with lots of profits but recently it seems like he had been losing and he had even used some loan to cover up his loss thereby firing some of his co_workers but everything gets worse everyday and he doesn't think that he can continue doing this anymore. The depression was too much for him to bear and he doesn't really know how he will pay those loans he's owing. Just as he was still in a deep thought, his phone buzzle with another call again making his heart beat this time around like a tap that's about to explode. He was more frightened and scared this time around on checking the caller. The person was no other person than... (Waylon) the debt collector of the loan agency. His hands were checking at the moment as he lost control of his driving. He was anxious. He couldn't bring himself to answer the phone. The phone rang continuously for like ten_ three minutes before he finally picked it up to hear the unpleasant Waylon was gonna say to him.*****"What made you pick my call Logan? I thought you were going to snub me or perhaps Block me this time around?" What made you change your mind? His voice echoes in disturbing his peace of mind. "Waylon please just give me sometimes okay! Just give me one month and I will pay you the money I promise! This will be......! "Just shut the fuck up!" You've always been giving me excuses on when you will pay but I don't have those patients again. My other business partners are perturbing me because of the money.Listen Logan; I'm giving you ten Hours to send me the money. If not, I'm going to burn down your companies. Not Only that but I will kidnap your one and only daughter. Goodbye Logan! His words sounded like a bump to his heart as it kept reflecting back to him. But it was too late because no matter what he did right now, he wouldn't survive it. He tried reversing the car back but he couldn't. He was too close to the upcoming bus and before he knew it, he heard a crashing sound and suddenly saw himself lifeless in his car which had fallen upside down. The car had fallen on his leg and some of the car's particles including the glasses had fallen on his hands.His past life reflected back at him, his happy, sad memories reflected back at him as life seems pointless to him at this point. He thought about the debt he had been holding. How's he still going to pay the loan he's holding now that he's at this critical position?For a while he thought about his daughter (Chloe) whose birthday was tomorrow. He thought about his new wife "Eleanor" and his Dead wife who he will be meeting soon in the afterlife after he had finally kicked the bucket. "Ohhh death, why have you come so far? He laments in pain before finally joining his ancestors.*****Chloe smiled as she glared at the necklace her mother had given her before her departure from the world. All she could do was to hug her teddy bear tightly to herself as she remembered that tomorrow was her birthday. She will be clicking ten tomorrow and she just can't wait to see what her father will give her tomorrow. She just can't wait for tomorrow to arrive so her school friends will come to her house. Tomorrow will surely be a joyful and memorable day of her life. She thought as she suddenly heard her step mother screaming. What could be wrong with her? She thought.****T b c
